If you’ve read Project Hail Mary and haven’t read The Martian yet, you definitely should, it’s so good I’ve been flying through it

I tried it after Hail Mary and wasn’t a fan 🫣 although to be completely honest I think it was just because I’ve seen the movie quite a few times. Love the movie but the story is pretty much word for word and I didn’t get any of the surprise/suspense since I knew everything that was gonna happen. I think I’d still recommend it, just don’t watch the movie first if you can help it!

I haven’t watched the movie, so maybe that’s why I’ve been liking it so much lol

It’s one of my favorite movies and I love the story, I just wish I had known it was a book before I watched it. It probably would’ve changed my opinion 🥲

Maybe try not to interpose Ryan goslings face onto Grace. The film is an adaptation of the book, and the subtle differences in translation are at least interesting to compare with each other. But, you know, like what you like I’m just thinking

Oh I love project Hail Mary and its movie but I read the book first for that one, it was the Martian book that I read after I watched the martian movie that was a bit of a disappointment for me. I did like the expansion of the science/engineering parts but there was just no suspense or anything since I knew what was going to happen. It’s still not a bad book by any means, I think I just had too high of expectations

I feel like if you like Rocky you’re going to like Mark Watney (protagonist of The Martian)
