What books have you read and liked this year? I read and finished “Moby-Dick; or, The Whale” a few days ago and it was an amazing read. Ran out of space As well, “Metamorphosis” was a fascinating short absurd tragic; which I plan to read more of Franz.

i read moby dick last year and was thoroughly unimpressed by it, it's 650 pages but 500 of them are just cool facts about whales and whaling and the only two chapters i individually cared for were the last one and the one where starbuck contemplates shooting ahab in the head

I was just gonna say Moby-Dick is now my favorite book I read so far now, and not anything like I expected it to be It’s super experimental novel; half whale facts, philosophical ideas in shakespearean proses, the whale itself represents anything but many interpretations: the cruel indifferent state of the universe, nature itself, or god. I started reading this book by playing through MGSV, which it featured and was inspired by Moby Dick; and in way, has the same plot beats

I’m also a Kafka fan. These are my reads so far for the year, I absolutely loved The Everlasting.

I would highly recommend Yellowface, it very much gave me a similar vibe to many classics i have enjoyed.
