My cat got in my room and threw up on one of my paperbacks. Does anybody have any tips for cleaning and getting the smell out? It was pretty expensive and I don’t have the money to spend on a new copy

ngl you might be a little bit cooked. is it on the pages or just the cover? what have you tried so far?

Pages, it was late, I wiped it with paper towel and disinfectant wipes and have too scared to check on it again

check it! it might not be as bad as you thought. books and moisture dont really mic well so trying to clean the pages with stuff like that might make the book unreadable. idk if you'll be able to truly get the stains out but maybe you can try to test how the paper/ink reacts to certain things like maybe a little bit of vinegar or any kind of gentle cleaner?

I’m out rn but I’ll check on it when I get home, the book includes illustrations so a lot of ink is used per pages
