For me it's Because the current book market is so oversatured with the same type of romantasy book with the same tropes and writing style. People aren't original they're just writing what's gonna sell they're so formulaic

I wouldn’t call it severe, or even hate. It’s just a preference tbh. I feel the same way about it as like regular romance, classics, or self help books. They’re not for me personally, but I don’t care one way or another if people read, like, or hate them. I don’t know how that would make anyone better than anyone else, reading is reading. And I’ve actually seen a lot more talk online about getting people to read romantasy/giving recs than putting it down

So I really really do not like them, and in the past I may have engaged in a little bit hot hate discourse. I’ve read a few and I nearly dislocated my eye from rolling them so hard. But I like really really nerdy fantasy that would probably bore you to tears so idc

i think i’m just way too gay to care about the popular romantasy stuff since it’s mostly fxm because i used to be a hater until i read priory of the orange tree and now it’s my favorite book LMAO
