Is there a specific reason why a good handful of romantasy authors pair their FMCs between the ages of 18-25 with MMCs who are 100+ years old?

I think it’s partially that a lot of young women feel as though the men of their generation are immature (I mean look at the media). So they want someone who’s knows what they want, knows how to take care of them, etc. Mainly has the maturity, AND the resources to support them and spoil them. But nowadays all we see is that people who are that are older, and we don’t like the look of older ppl just what they represent. So 100+ fae who looks young but acts old and thinks your special? Ye.

Having the male character older as the older one in the relationship is just common in general, even without the outlandish fantasy ages

The main male love interest will be some immortal being that’s been around for centuries and the girl will be like. 19
