my favorite fiction writers include Franz Kafka, Osamu Dazai, Dennis Cooper, Mark Z. Danielewski and Thomas Ligotti based on these, what works by female authors might you recommend me?

Probably Donna Tarte and Agustina Bazterrica. I thought the Unworthy was great, I’m a Kafka fan as well.

I second Agustina Bazterrica. Maybe also Sayaka Murata?

primarily looking for: 1) nihilistic-yet-heartfelt semi-autobiographical tragedy narratives relayed with a dry & neurotic sense of humor 2) transgressive queer erotic horror that veers into “splatterpunk” territory 3) surreal experimental cosmic horror with a postmodernist flair

excellent! synopsis for The Unworthy piqued my interest, very much here for the “post-gothic” vibes and ambient homoeroticism also, I didn’t realize Bazterrica wrote Tender Is The Flesh—heard that one mentioned a lot in horror spaces, but for some reason I kept getting it mixed up with an Eric LaRocca title. so I’ll be looking into both of those, thank you ✌️
