Project Hail Mary (the book) was genuinely life changing for me when I first read it and I’m so mad that they Hollywood-ized the movie

I honestly wasn’t a big fan of the book, but I’m excited to see the movie just for Fraser’s cinematography and Ryan Gosling

Aw, im sorry it didn’t work for you. For me personally I thoroughly enjoyed them both for different reasons. I’m a bit bummed they removed a bunch of the science from the movie (and don’t get me started on the centrifuge!) but they did a great job adapting a story that was mostly told through internal monologue. And they added a scene towards the end that I loved. That it wasn’t in the book was the only “complaint” I had about it when I first read it a while back

You def don’t have to like the book to enjoy it. I went with my parents, my dad loved it never having read the book and my mom loved it even tho the book “confused her” lol. The cinematography is excellent and the score/soundtrack is even better. I saw it twice and don’t know if it’s just recency bias (time will tell!) but it’s currently in my top three movies of all time. I’m not even a huge gosling fan but he was excellent as well

My friend recently watched the movie and she also complained about the centrifuge!
