Cosmere adaptations!!! FINALLY. And Sanderson gets to write, produce, and give approvals. I think making mistborn a movie is a good choice, but I’m even more glad that stormlight will be a series. Pls be good

I’m so excited! I’m pretty sure they’ll do a good job with it too since he has so much creative control

I mean it was just announced, nothings written yet and it could very well be years before they come out. Tho I’m biased and will always recommend Sanderson (if you like fantasy), so I’d say go for it unless you do want to wait until closer to release

i enjoy fantasy just never read him before despite all the good things i hear. do you recommend a series to start with over the others?

Hmm, theres a lot of places to start, I personally started with stormlight, but thats his huge epic series so if you haven’t read a lot of fantasy/just want to dip your feet in first, I’d start with the era 1 mistborn trilogy, which is what I feel most people recommend. If you just want a standalone, I’d start with warbreaker or tress of the emerald sea, or emperors soul for a novella. I love elantris but a lot of people feel that it’s his weakest so I’d hold off on that one for a couple books

Also stormlight is his best series imo, I still liked mistborn a lot, but I think it was a little disappointing to read after stormlight because it set the bar super high and my expectations weren’t properly adjusted. Which i guess is another point toward reading mistborn first, but other than that and maybe a couple little Easter eggs missed, there is no drawback to reading stormlight first

Same! He’s already started writing the screenplay, and Apple has done some pretty good fantasy/sci fi projects in the past with some large budgets. And he’ll still manage to write six books in the meantime lol
