I’m an indie author and just got the email of my dreams (a legitimate publisher reaching out to potentially represent + distribute my books). Except it’s the publishing house that works with RFK Jr. and Alex Jones. Can I just disappear into the forest?

Idk anything about publishing so ignore me if they’re solid evil and not just complicit and morally bankrupt BUT!!! Don’t let those cunts withhold your success! YOU don’t have that message, you’re not like them. You can spread the opposite of their hatred, and I’d never judge you for taking the deal. Do what feels right, and congratulations on being noticed, even if it’s less than ideal. <333

Obviously will not be working with them, even if it could help take my writing career from tiny to successful. It just sucks that my dream email had to come from Satan himself. I can’t ethically be published alongside conspiracy theorists. Feeling super defeated not gonna lie. Why couldn’t it have been an imprint like Bloom Books? My demon romance series would fit into something like that so well 😭 and yet…

I am considering this if I even respond at all, or seeing if their agents do work with other publishers! It will likely be a dead end, but so is refusing to work with them anyway. I am not gonna be publishing under the same house as Alex Jones 😭

I don’t think most people pay attention to publishers to be honest, like I wouldn’t see your book and be like ohhh that’s the same publisher as jk rowling guess I won’t read it 😭 it’s not really that deep honestly

It truly is when they advertise that they publish “cancelled authors” and promote genuinely damaging rhetoric. They’re known in the publishing community for having no spine on major issues. It’s not like JKR where they publish a lot of varied authors and she is the one bad one. Most of who they pub are pretty evil. I left my secure job of 7 years recently because of moral concerns and I don’t really want to go back to questioning myself for a paycheck.

I appreciate this, but truly they are awful. It’s Skyhorse if you want to look them up. I can’t be on the same publishing page as most, not just some of their headliners. It is just so so against my morals. Super disappointing but I don’t think I’m going to make the difference here, sadly.
