Not a hot take at all I 100% agree! I did not mean for it to come off as a opinion about others. If you love to read romance please do! Not every book is for everyone. I just hate romance book because I can never get into them. Platonic relationships are more my style

OP I’m the same way, and I blocked someone on another post when they said it was “unreasonable” to not want to read books w/ romance. #5 is gone now lol. they also downvoted your comment so I imagine they don’t want to genuinely engage with you, especially after what they said to me 💀

5 blocked me too. It’s ppl like that that make reading genres unenjoyable. Why are you mad that ppl don’t like the genres you read I don’t get mad when ppl won’t read dystopian novels so why are you that pissy no one’s telling you to not read whatever you want. Just hypocritical and sensitive 💀

fr, if the post is about romance then I’m gonna talk about romance 😭 I could list off multiple other genres that I dislike, but I’m not since that’s off-topic. #5 is acting like we’re categorically discriminating against books with romance because of misogyny or homophobia. no, we just DONT LIKE THEM 😭 & it’s cathartic to be able to talk abt our frustrations with it. they act as if this isn’t the venting site, & they’re policing people who even tangentially criticize romance.
