Sometimes books genuinely make me think so heavy I want to sob. It just feels like books (especially classics) ask such heavy questions that most people tend to stray away from to maintain their own happiness. Am I the only one who feels this?

I feel this too!! Which ones in particular? I recently reread Animal Farm and it made me stare at the ceiling for a long time…

Do people not naturally recognize this stuff? Yeah no shit the sloppy adult novel isn’t going to make you think deeply 😭. This is the point of art, to think about something simple on a deeper level. If a book hasn’t inspired you, made you think differently, or taught you something new then it’s not a book worth reading.

Animal Farm has you guys staring at the ceiling what?! 😭 I think you guys need to read more good books. I was imagining you talking about Blood Meridian or Fahrenheit 451, not fucking Animal Farm bruh. What from animal farm has you staring at the ceiling? It’s like the most basic story ever just to help give context towards the political history of Russia.

Just because you don’t agree doesn’t mean it’s not worth talking about. Yes, Blood Meridian and Fahrenheit 451 are also great examples, but that doesn’t take away the fact that Animal Farm has impacted people too. It’s okay not to agree, but I think that is the beauty of literature. 😊
