Hey guys, it’s actually really weird and gross to say someone has a clinical addiction based on their reading preference. We only have so much time on this earth. It’s okay for people to seek out specific genres, tropes, themes, etc they are looking for.

And when your judgement is only directed toward smut readers and not any other genre, ie horror, dark fantasy, etc. it’s obviously coming from a place of misogyny and puritanical censorship. It’s very much okay for adults to enjoy adult material without claiming they have a full blown addiction. It’s very much NOT okay to label an entire group of readers addicts. Addiction is between an individual and a care provider. Not some random online who thinks they are better bc they only read lit fic.

RIGHT! This reminds me of the time I posted in Smut about a book with MMMF and got countless comments and DMs calling me a porn addict or accusing me of having “a loose/used up pussy”

That’s so crazy especially for smut channel. Like what is even the point? I left smut channel because as an ace person, I got tired of it being 99% hookup posts rather than book recs and writing.
