Genuine question: I hear a lot about these two books, what’s so bad about them?

Def can see where you’re coming from, but for some people it’s a way to cope with traumatic experiences in a way that they are in control

I literally had to dtf these books. The writing is so bad and the narrator was so unreliable and flaky. Couldn’t do it

They romanticize sexual assault, are hypocritical, and just shouldn’t exist. I’ve read the first one and the author genuinely needs to be investigated and put on a list.

The original version also had a whole QAnon plot (the bad guys are predatory politicians who drink the blood of children and do satanic rituals, one of their main guys has a stereotypically Jewish last name). Also to get more specific on the hypocrisy, the book depicts the love interest as a hero fighting against this group, despite him also being a stalker and predator
