I read the original, however I’ve heard that she changed a lot about the story. There is a lot of depth, even more than before, regarding politics and war. Most importantly it is NOT a romance.

It is really good. The writing is gut wrenching and honestly the more viscerally accurate depiction of that type of trauma I’ve read in a book. But it’s extremely dark and honestly vile at times, I haven’t read the book yet, but the source material was a lot.
