WHY THE FUCK WHY DO PEOPLE SAY THAT STRATT DIDNT CARE ABOUT GRACE? Like YES she sent him to die. But in both the book and the movie (book more so) she stated she did not want to send him to die, and she did feel guilt but at the end of the day she has to save billions. She didn’t send him with no pain or emotion behind it. She do not want to, but knew she had to.

It’s definitely clearer in the book that this is the case even with the first person perspective. (Don’t get me wrong, I did love the movie) but movie Stratt was a bit “off” for lack of a better term. I think part of it was having to cut scenes due to length, but she was a little inconsistent. One scene she says it’s not hard at all to send people to die, and the next she’s all smiley and singing. My friend who hasn’t read the book didn’t get badass vibes at all. It really needed the court scene

Like if yall didn’t pay attention when watching that’s on you don’t paint her to be an emotionless villain when she wasn’t a villain all. She was the person in charge of making hard decisions for the overall good. She herself mentioned that she will probably face her crimes and end up in a prison cell and that she would do it all over again if given the chance. We hate her because we are in Graces point of view. If we didn’t know Grace at all we wouldn’t hate her, or at least nearly as much.

YES. I think they were trying to display compassion with the karaoke scene, and trying to show everyone that she’s a person too even though she’s being the villain that’s killing people

I felt that too. I also think that maybe they wanted to keep it lighter in tone because of the comedy aspects. It worked really well as a comedy, but in movie format with limited time for storytelling, some characters or scenes (like Stratt and the Sahara/Antarctic scenes) weren’t able to be explored fully, or would seem too serious with the hopeful/uplofting undertones
