I read most like fire. But man. TOG SJMaas series - got me reading slow as hell. 4 years in and still not done

Honestly though, if im enjoying a book, it feels faster. I’m probably reading at the same speed, but I’m enjoying myself more. If a book is slow, I’m much more inclined put it down for a while or just straight dnf. So pretty much every book I finish is “fast” to me, if it’s slow I won’t finish it. Though I do only read epic fantasy/sci fi, this is probably more applicable to classics and more literary stuff

Yeah but I think it’s also acknowledging that many good books demand that you must slow down and think carefully, and there are equally good books that are simple and satisfying, made for mass audiences. Sometime stuck up assholes only consider those slow books good. Idk I think it’s an interesting point.
