It it didn’t cost so much I’d be less undecided, Id just buy the new one. I saved for a while for a nice edition of my favorite series (The Wheel of Time for anyone curious, ran out of characters in the original post). I didn’t expect them to let us keep the damaged ones, but it would have been really nice 😅 I mean I could always get the new one later??? Idk
