I had to buy a cover for my copy of the secret history so I didn’t look pretentious while reading it on the bus😓 it’s just my book club book, please don’t post me on Twitter

I did that during Thanksgiving and my Aunt grabbed my fucking book and in the most surprised voice I have ever heard from a woman so pinched and stern, exclaimed, “You’re reading Jane Austen???” Like yes Aunty. I am in fact well-read and educated
