who cares what people read? it’s amazing that people are reading in general!! doesn’t matter what they enjoy or are entertained by. so few individuals read in society that we should be praising every type of book

No we shouldn’t. I’m not praising people for reading 7th grade level prose with a hyper sexualized story that borders on SA. It’s gross and not good literature. No takeaways from this shit. The OP seems aware, so good on them.

That’s the thing about reading is sometimes there doesn’t need to be a takeaway sometimes you just need a fictional place to escape to for the time being and that’s what being a reader is it’s not about reading philosophy or the classics it’s just having a place to escape and that’s looks different for everyone

I agree. I didn’t say that you can’t enjoy a place away from here. I didn’t even say you can’t read smut. I’ll judge those who read smut as I find it disturbing and not good literature. Theres tons of real stories of two people who are very relatable. If you can relate to some of these abhorrent things in smut, you either need to contact police or a therapist.

Not all the books on that shelf are dark romance though so not all of them have taboo themes. Also, it’s perfectly fine to have your thoughts on this but to give your unwanted opinion on a post where they are just happy to show their book shelf is rude. Even if I were to agree with you points which in some areas I do I think there’s a time and a place and a post of someone showing off their bookshelf isn’t the place. ☺️
