I just finished reading "Empress of All Seasons" by Emiko Jean and really enjoyed it. Another is "Among the Beasts and Briars" by Ashley Poston.

Kinda more spec fic than high fantasy but Three Eight One by Aliyah Whiteley reads like a fairytale. Also anything by Naomi Novik if you haven’t read her in a second

Amazing read but the translation is garbage atm (it’s being retranslated by YP) It’s hard to get through the first chapter if you’re not used to reading foreign material with sketchy translations

Really unique magic system, strong FMC, clean story but with deep and mature themes

Book 1 has a pretty good translation. I haven’t read the others

It’s about a girl with a curse in which she kills everything she touches and her quest to save her older brother from a magical dictatorship

The new translation by Yen Press is very good. It’s professionally edited by real translators. However, it’s only translated up to around book 3. The original translation on webnovel is very bad. The prose is just so awkward to read. I wouldn’t be suprised if you read the new translation, but the entire thing isn’t close to that level sadly.

Perfect follow up to the second death of Locke.
