Anyone else hate books that are told in 3rd person narrative the WHOLE book. Don’t get me wrong it’s nice every now and then for a whole picture but this is the second book in a row that’s this damn pov and I’m trying not to dnf😭

Why is it that the POV is a bother to you? Is it that you want to feel the protagonist’s emotions, or is it something else?

What book is it?

I don’t mind it when it’s only a couple chapters but when it’s a whole book I feel like I’m missing so much about what the character is thinking and why they are making the decisions that they come to. It feels more like I’m watching a movie because I lack that other perspective rather than reading a book. Like I said it’s nice every now and then to get a whole picture but I feel like I don’t truly get to know the characters when I read it. Maybe it’s just the authors and others are better, but

The last 3 I’ve read I feel like I’m lacking that area and would rather just watch a movie at that point instead of the book
