anything by Michael Cunningham, Day is very real but sad, By Nightfall is weird but real, and A Wild Swan is weird and eerie and just a bunch of short stories

or The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice although i didn't love "interview with the vampire" the next 2 books were amazing
