So if you can read (which I would hope bc this community is called Book Club) you would notice I said nyc! + Local libraries won’t take pre-published books that multiple locations have already rejected. Giving books to strangers is a last resort but I don't mind!

Actually, they would! Most libraries have a friends of the library or a free shelf. You’d know this if you went to your library… which I’m guessing you don’t. If you hate the idea of going to a public library you could also look and see if your area has little free libraries.
