I was thinking it would have been much better if Violet stayed a scholar and just happened to bond with a dragon whilst uncovering secrets about the academy. Instead of the stupid war college, trials plotline.

Sorry. I just hate Violet. "Mary Sue" is usually an unhelpful criticism since it's kind of broad and execution matters a lot, but Violet is THE Mary Sue. Never read such a Wattpad Hoover SJM book and FMC in my life.

So i actually think this could lowkey be fire, but i also think that thats just a different story (which tbf, probably the point). I can totally understand a book not being for you (recently been hit by like 3 DNF’s in a row). There’s definitely also something to be said about how even if that was the case, it could be the author thats the problem, not the story. I adore fourth wing, but i am a trash panda, I consume a lot of garbage books, so im not shocked it’s considered one by some.

^^^ No one should be shamed over a book they like! I like stuff that other people love or that others hate. It's all up to taste! I just couldn't connect to Fourth Wing, but I understand how others may have connected with the book! I also like media that is objectively garbage in literally every way (i.e. the fanmade anime series on Youtube called Blood Raining Night, it's so bad that it's entertaining i have not let go of it since the pandemic in 2020).

Feel like that’s kinda me too. Like I like stuff that everyone says is bad or not good writing like fourth wing and zodiac academy. There’s been so much about both but I love both.
