THIS and the more you look for it, the more you realize it’s like 90% of romance plots today. Like “enemies to lovers” now just means “the girl is a normal person and the guy is an asshole… for some reason they don’t get along!!🤯” Yeah no shit… if you’re rude, how is that supposed to be attractive??

Isn’t that what a villain is? That’s like the most standard concept of a villain. Asshole dude just wants the sweet girl and the hero comes to stop him and save the girl. The majority of stories follow something along the lines of that whether it’s the focus of the story or not, that’s usually within it.

To me a villain is like morally corrupt not just an asshole but most of the “villains” marketed are just normal mfs who are annoying, whiny, misogynistic dickheads.
