Personally I don’t actually think of the words outloud in my head when I read, or at least I haven’t since I was a kid. I instead selectively read words and just kinda look at the rest and from that can form a picture of what’s happening much faster than reading every word.

i feel like reading used to flow a lot better in my head and now it feels, like, disjointed?? i’m sure it’ll get better the more i read again but it’s just a weird and jarring feeling as someone who used to adore reading when she was younger
