this page made me feel so bad for him i dont think hes a sociopath he’s just a 13 year old kid. I want to admit that when reading these books as a kid I related to him a lot.

he has it rough a lot, seems like he never gets the opportunity to do something that he genuinely wants to do and just gets dragged along by everyone else. If he tries to do something that he wants to do or make his own decisions it backfires making him feel even more insecure. He copes with this by fantasizing of the future and a life that he has control over where things go exactly the way he wants them to and in his voice that definitely comes off as narcissistic

i wasn’t ever a big fan of the books but i could always understand Greg as a fellow middle child

Greg’s treatment of rowley a kid who actually gets to own his life and always ends up successful in his endeavors stems from that insecurity in himself.

And I won’t say that during hs I didn’t look down on the kids in my school who were more weird or cringe than me but who were just living life happily for those similar reasons.
