I’ve seen others talk about comfort books and it made me realize that I don’t have one. Maybe I need one. I’m mentally ill so not very many things give me comfort, so I think that’s why I never had one. Any recs for finding one’s comfort book?
Comfort books for me are when I find a book I really like and connect with AND can just jump into any time at any point and enjoy. Anxious People is one. This is How You Lose the Time War is another.

Mine is the only ya book I can still read, maybe retry some books you used to read when you were younger?

I have comfort series; mine are the Percy Jackson and Harry Potter series. I typically read one of the two all the way through during the summer (because that's when I need my comfort series!)

My favorite is “where the crawdads sing” mostly because I love the biology elements and it has a little bit of everything romance, mystery, drama

Just walk into a store and start reading backs of books. Get one that sounds enjoyable to you and GO IN BLIND. No booktok, no goodreads, no checking the reviews. Go in completely blind. This is how I found my all time favorite series

Mine is any "Emily Henry" book- they're mindless and deep and I always get sucked in despite knowing what will happen. For me comfort books don't stress me out, and I find peace away from the world around me

I've been reading the Percy Jackson series since elementary school and it still hasn't lost my interest (and I'm in grad school now)
