Not that I think books 1&2 are bad, but the story really kicks it up a notch starting book 3. I think the best part is the intricate character webs and world building and while books 1&2 are very important set up, they’ll never be anyone’s favorite part of the story. That being said, if you don’t feel like you want to stick it out till book 3, no shame in moving on to something else.

I DNFed it. I read the first book and it was on god one of the worst I’ve ever read. I do not understand how it’s so popular
