Not to yuck your yum but that translation of Crime and Punishment is kinda not the best. Depends on how you like to read but the translator didn’t capture Dostoevsky’s raw, frantic, jagged prose. Instead turning it into smooth, polite Victorian English, stripping the novel of some of chaotic psychological tension. I read that translation for my first read through and I’ve read two different translations since and both were more enjoyable. It’s still good though!

Oliver ready and David mcduff were the other ones I read. They make it a bit more difficult to follow but it captures the mental depravity sooooo much better. Sorry for the yap sesh lmao I just love Dostoevsky 😭
