If anybody was curious, you can actually just get a kindle unlimited subscription, download 20 books, throw your kindle on airplane mode, cancel your subscription, and you’ll still have access to the books as long as u want

You need wifi to download, but once you download them you can open them without wifi as long as they are on your device. Yes, libraries exist. My kindle does not work with my library however
