got me back into reading. was obsessed with the characters for 6 months after reading them

It’s a fun read if you like high fantasy smut and don’t mind a blatant Mary Sue FMC with lots of cliches/tropes. I don’t feel like they’re *good* by any kind of serious literary standard, but I did enjoy reading them. The first book was honestly hard to trudge through, but it gets better around halfway through book 2.

I really enjoyed the series. The first book was okay, but the rest are amazing. Yes, there is smut, but the books are so much more than that. Though if you would like something with less smut, then I would read throne of glass first. One thing to keep in mind while reading any of SJM’s books is that none of characters are perfect. They will make choices that you will disagree with, but I honestly think that makes them more realistic and relatable.

They’re not very well written, but the world building is pretty good. I enjoyed them for what they were! I recommend!
