I’ve been wanting to get a belly button piercing for years but I’m unsure if I have the anatomy. If I don’t, does anyone know what alternatives I might be able to get? I’ll be visiting my piercer in a week or so but I’m prepping for disappointment LOL

Only a piercer would be able to evaluate for sure, but try sitting down and checking how your stomach folds. Some people’s navels “collapse” when they sit which would make a typical navel piercing reject. the r/piercing subreddit is also super helpful. You might be able to get a floating navel though! They’re more comparable with a wider range of body types.

Piercer here: You could get one above your belly button, but because of the pull on the bottom it might by difficult to pierce or could be uncomfortable.

I’ll definitely look into a floating naval, as I’m pretty sure my tummy does the collapsing thing if I’m imagining it correctly LOL. Thank you for the insight!! :) 🌸
