that is a completely decent shower routine, tho i would add a face wash if u dont do that outside of the shower. some ppl like to use specific exfoliating products (such as sugar scrubs) to help with removing dead skin, tho using tools like a poof/loofah (idk what they’re actually called) to apply ur body wash can also help with this. exfoliating is really helpful if u choose to shave bc it can help prevent ingrown hairs. lmk if u have more questions :)
generally, this isn’t a bad shower routine at all. you’re clean and comfortable and that’s all that matters. i will say though, that if you want a good exfoliant then sugar scrub is a pretty good option. i also use an african net sponge to get hard to reach parts like my back. face wash is good too, but sometimes i do it out of the shower. just depends. and make sure you use lotion after. but generally, this is decent self cleansing! :)
So there is a big difference between what people do to feel/ look good and what is necessary for hygiene purposes. To be clean and hygienic you are doing everything you need to. However it can be fun and make you feel and look better to do some extra stuff (like people have listed here). But you don’t need to do that unless you want to
tbh as long as your body/face is clean and you don’t stink, you’re good! the overconsumption era makes it seem like you need a 20 step routine, but you don’t! unless you wanna do all of that! just having a good washcloth that you change regularly, good soap/face wash/shampoo, deodorant, you’re good! and always remember to moisturize and use sunscreen to protect your skin. as others said, no soap inside your privates!
Depends on your hair and skin but I shampoo twice, leave conditioner on for a bit while washing body and/or shaving, body scrub every now and then, cleanse face twice, also might incorporate a second leave in conditioner soon. I know some people don’t thoroughly wash everything so getting into all the nooks and crannies can add up in time along with everything else, especially when shaving
like others have said, cleansing your face in the shower could be a good addition, just make sure the water isn’t too hot. I also like to rinse my hair with cold water. Id recommend staying away from fragrance (parfum) in any product. I have very sensitive skin so I use recommend vani cream products. As for exfoliating, sugar scrubs are personally too abrasive, so I will gently DRY brush before shower. Don’t exfoliate too many times a week. I only do it 1-2 times a week.
It rlly depends on ur preferences. For me I have two shampoos(one clarifying and other is a normal one for my hair porosity) a conditioner. Then I have a bar soap and wash cloth. Then I have baby oil for shaving, African net thingy, a glycolic acid body wash and vitamin c one that you leave on for a couple of mins-and when I use that I’ll typically go in with my face wash or I’ll gua sha(for lymphatic drainage)
Your routine looks good from a necessity standpoint! I personally take awhile in the shower because I use a scalp scrub, shampoo twice, comb my conditioner through my hair, use a unscented bar soap for my body, follow up with benzoyl peroxide cleanser under my arms to minimize BO (a me issue but it works lol), wash my hands so there’s no benzoyl peroxide left on them (it can bleach hair), rinse my conditioner out, wash the conditioner off my hands (I have acne prone skin), and wash my face
oh also avoid using heavily scented products on ur vulva area, it can fuck up ur pH. i personally use dove sensitive skin body wash! also if u have any allergies check the ingredients on products u purchase! for example, i have a nut allergy, and so i avoid products that use nut oils (almond oil is common, among others) bc idk how my skin might react to them
But remember to be washing ur ears with ur fingers or wash cloth-double clean ur armpits or any other areas that get smelly. Also remember to be changing out ur towels after 2-3 uses especially if you use wash cloths. Another thing I like to do is use a body oil when my body is soaking wet then go in with a lotion after that (I do this when I don’t wash my hair) but everyone has their own routines/rituals and it’s fun to find what you like
Heavy on checking for allergies!! I tried a new shampoo once not knowing it had carrot oil in it and didn’t think to check until I noticed more hair fall than usual. I also started using a new toner and didn’t realize it had apple extract in it and didn’t look until my breakouts got worse 😭
