I should also add, and again this is very embarrassing, that my head/scalp smells. Like if I scratch it or rub it and I end up smelling my fingers, they stink. Idk what it is or how it’s happening because I shower daily and I wash everything😭
Recently for the first time ever I decided to grow my hair out. Most of my life I’ve dealt with dandruff and it’s been on and off but now I feel like it’s only getting worse and I have the horrible feeling I’m balding before my 20s. #1/2

don’t use moisturizing shampoo, shampoo twice or as many times as needed every day. use your finger pages to really scrub your scalp for multiple minutes. nizoral ketoconazole shampoo 2x a week. let it sit on your scalp for 5 minutes. always blow dry your hair and especially your scalp first. your issue is yeast which grows in moist, warm, dark environments. blow drying isn’t damaging with proper technique. credentials: i am a cosmetologist who has completely gotten rid of my terrible dandruff.

Could be a yeast problem- it would also cause the dandruff Try an anti fungal shampoo like head and shoulders and if that doesn’t work maybe see a dermatologist

always emulsify the shampoo in your hands with water before you put it on your head.

That’s what I was about to say. Also washing too much can be just as bad as washing too little. And it’s usually recommended to rotate ur shampoos, especially if ur using a medicated dandruff shampoo
