Fashion question: how do I balance dressing relatively “maturely” but in a way that is still fun? I want to expand into grunge/adjacent styles, but I feel like doing so may hurt my impression on people. How do I manage this?

Definitely with accessories & makeup! Experiment with different silhouettes too

Plaid or leather can hint at punk. Throw on a few thick rings or an oversized shirt. Layering is always fun. I paint my nail black when I have to dress professionally, just so I still feel like myself when I look different

I think it depends on the situation you are in. I say wear whatever you want and don’t worry what people think. Different situations call for a different appearance sometime. I like to dress gothic and go full out but when I go to events or certain family gatherings I tone it down to more of a practical approach for the occasion. I just believe there is a time and place for appropriate dress codes.

My approach is •have everything I could possibly need in black, build with what looks good with those items •have a lot of textures to work with (fav is velvet) •blazers are surprisingly versatile •hair clips/style, bags, makeup, jewelry are all easy to change on a few hours notice if needed.
