if you think your hair is naturally frizzy, it’s really just not straight and you’re treating it like it’s straight. “poofy” is not a hair type. frizz is just a curl without a curl clump. styling products with hold like gel and foam gel you achieve clumps

i have curly hair but it’s so fine it’s easily weighed down and pulled straight. i’ve had people in cosmetology school with me tell me “i wish i had your hair! mines just poofy!!” and i don’t have the heart to tell them they have curly/wavy hair but they’re forcing it straight. even if they did have my exact hair type they wouldn’t let it curl up. i never see anyone with my hair type. not bc i’m unique, but bc everyone with my hair forces it straight

then they eventually learn it might be curly or wavy, try styling it curly for the first time, and they’re mad when it looks insane and doesn’t look like someone that’s been wearing their hair curly for years. curls are delicate and if you try to force them to do anything they don’t naturally want to it will effect them. they aren’t willing to suffer through the months of crazy hair days to get to the point of having nice curly hair. it’s so unfortunate.
