ok, this is a little tmi, but it’s something I’ve been struggling with and I’m to embarrassed to asked for help from a doctor, but no matter how much I clean my private area and drink a ton of water. I always have a fishy smell. (1/2)

i know going to the doctor is embarrassing but you might have an infection and it's hard to clear those without help or antibiotics

Diet also plays a huge role - make sure you’re eating healthy. Also DO NOT clean on the inside - the vagina is a self-cleaning organ so that will just throw off your pH and wash away good bacteria needed to keep everything working properly (including fighting infection which is a major cause of bad smell). Def clean around the outside though with water or SUPER mild soap (ex. Dove sensitive skin soap bar) to get rid of sweat, dead skin, etc.

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I clean with just water on the inside occasionally I’ll use the equate feminine wash and I use dove or dial antibacterial on the outside and I wear 100% cotton panties. Please help! (2/2)

Someone just posted about this on the natural remedies facebook group. People were recommending apple cider vinegar rinses/baths. I could try to find the post again and share the exact dilution of it if that’s the direction you want to go

is there any pain or discomfort?

Also make sure you’re not always wearing tight-fitting clothes and maybe consider not wearing underwear at night to let everything breathe and prevent sweat especially if you live in a hot area

i wouldn’t use water or anything on the inside and avoid antibacterial soap everywhere but especially your vulva. antibacterial soap kills all bacteria, including the good bacteria that’s supposed to live on your skin. killing 99% of everything just means the most resistant bacteria survives which is not good for you long term and contributes to antibacterial resistance

It might just be your body as everyone’s different. I have a same issue but mine is off and on quite a bit. As much as you might dislike the doctor(me too girl) they can be quite welcoming. Esp a female doctor. The smell can be solved with a prescribed pill or cream to lessen the smell substantially, but that’s only if ya go hon. If you happen to have a bad experience changing ur doctor helps as there’s always nicer ones out there. Never be sorry for wanting a new one if you don’t like yours ♥️
