Not really. Going to law school teaches you all sorts of law stuff that a police officer would \*never\* need because it's civil not criminal.

but lots of cops don't even know the criminal stuff i'm sure it wouldn't hurt to actually study what they're enforcing. frankly i think it should be a requirement. at least a specialized version that focuses on criminal but WAYYYYYYY too many cops just don't know their head from their ass.

That’s irrelevant considering law school isn’t necessary to teach those things.

They are trained on criminal law though. They are tested on their knowledge of criminal code and are reeducated every year (how long depends on where you are) to update them on any changes. A lot of suggestions people give are good ideas, it’s just that the police already incorporated those ideas.
