
The orb would ruin the view of the San Francisco coast and horizon and potentially disturb ship travel. You could use those funds to build something more aesthetically appealing than an obsidian orb. Also not sure how the engineering and logistics will bring economic benefit rather than loss.
The orb will probably attract tourists at first but will most likely loose traction because it’s not a historic site or aesthetically appealing, especially in comparison to the other things that SF offers. SF might lose tourists bc ppl visit SF to see the GG bridge and the islands and the orb will ruin the view. Are you saying that because it’s an “engineering challenge”, it will create more jobs for people? If so, any other project that’s not an orb will create jobs as well.
