I just moved back to my hometown after being gone for like 5 years and my favorite meal from my favorite Mexican restaurant is WAY more expensive, smaller portion, and doesn’t taste as good anymore. I literally cried but now I’m committed to making the perfect replica catered to my taste at home

Sysco has been buying up smaller restaurant food distribution companies and, aside from some regional distributors, have a national monopoly on supplying restaurants. They’ve started, in the last 5 years or so, to cut portion sizes and substitute lower quality ingredients and pocketing the difference. If you don’t live in service area of a regional distributor all local sit downs are gonna get fucked like this

If it’s just a new recipe, I would just politely say, “hey. I noticed the Mac and cheese is different today from when I had it before. I’m not sure if you’re trying out a new recipe, but I just wanted to let you know”
