if there is even one (1) thing wrong with the texture or taste i’m immediately gagging and getting rid of the whole thing so i can sit in silence trying not to think about it until i get hungry again and just make a bowl of black beans because that’s the amount of complexity i desire in a meal
I don’t think there is a cure, but there’s definitely better management. I got diagnosed with ADHD in march, with further testing heavily recommended for autism. I always knew something was off with the way my brain functioned, but I kinda learned how to manage it, people who don’t have that ability need people in their lives who know how to help manage their needs in a way that works for them. I will compare myself to my friend who has been diagnosed with ADHD since she was a kid. Unlike me…
…she was held to a different standard, and with some minor accommodations and medication she was the same level, if not higher, than me academics wise. And while she received help, had she not I don’t believe she’d be able to manage it on her own as well (she has/had more of the hyper active type issues). However, I don’t know how much over time she learned to manage herself as I will go out with her and I’m almost 100% in charge of her. I can’t completely fault her bc her family does treat…
Her as a child despite us being 22, however she does not make attempts at management and has even gone backwards in her mental progression and has even started to self diagnose autism (which conveniently “acts up” and makes her helpless when a guy is around, and he’s a dr confirmed that’s not what’s going on). I feel if she had learned management AND her family adapted as she got older she would be better off. I know this is about ADHD but it’s kinda the same way I see autism. Everyone needs…
…management and sometimes they cannot manage themselves, though their management does need to change over time, even if these changes are slow. I’m also using ADHD as the example as we know for a fact we both have it with only me possibly having autism. Though I do have sensory issues, and most of them I can manage. I hope this made sense with the point, there is no cure, but we need more people out there who know how to help manage and help teach people to manage themselves
