the downside to majoring in my special interest is that in high school i learned on my own what the current college juniors are learning in my college curriculum rn. i haven’t found anyone else in my school who’s as deeply invested in the subject as i am and it’s isolating. i’ve had some good talks with my profs but i can’t really be *friends* with them
I feel that on a deep level. I didn’t learn a ton extra before entering my new college but I still did teach myself a lot. But I’ve found that almost everyone but my friend and a few others at the school just dont care about what they’re doing. I want more people to care and actually put even 10% effort into being a student. At the same time, I’m at the top of my school because my minimum effort isn’t even equal to their full effort so I stand out 😭🥀
i’m music ed and a music degree i think is something you have to really invest yourself in if you want to be successful. so i don’t get the people who aren’t as invested as i am ://. i’m a competitive person but i don’t have any competition. i have to take a foundations class for my primary instrument and i love tutoring my classmates though! i’m planning on transferring to a more competitive school next year
That’s very cool and I’m sure you’ll end up very successful with your drive!! I’m a game development major and students at my school actually don’t do their work. We even have esports teams instead of real sports teams and students on those teams don’t even do their practice hours. Like how are so you far gone that you won’t even play the VIDEO GAME you signed up for?? If you aren’t playing video games or doing your homework… WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?! It’s madness! 😭🥀
