I don't know how to deal with all the political stuff recently. I feel guilty not being in the know, but I'm hyper empathetic and seeing all these tragic injustices is so overwhelming. I cry at least 3x a day. Idk what to do

I’ve been taking little breaks, making sure I’m informed but also resting from it because it’s a lot. I think it’s okay to take care of yourself and not look at the news for a couple days ❤️ do something that calms you down or deep dive into a special interest

You really just have to limit yourself, and come to really unfortunate terms with how the world is rn, esp when you have to research certain thing to know you're getting the full picture. it's the best way to make sure you know what's going on in full, so we all can take the small steps needed to hopefully make things better. 🫂 I usually end up engaging in stuff I'm interested in after doing so in order to regulate myself lol.

Same I feel bad not keeping up with what’s going on, but I just can’t handle it.

I deleted social media but still stayed politically involved with actual organizations like YDSA and some smaller local political groups. You seeing atrocities online is only going to dysregulate you and doesn’t make real change, use your energy for good instead. I’ve found that engaging like this has also helped my mental health by making me feel less helpless and also giving me a community to lean on!

I also do read the news regularly but only when I am with others, idk why but that helps soften the blow a lot since we can talk about it and process together
