ABA stands for Applied Behavior Analysis. Positive reinforcement for positive behaviors, and punishment of negative behaviors. Basically, people who don’t understand what autism is attempting to beat it out of us and give us enough stickers until we’re golden neurotypical children (which, spoiler alert, is not possible). Heavily supported and pushed by Autism Speaks. I recommend looking it up if you’re interested; there’s a lot of controversy surrounding it
Wow I had no idea. I'm not autistic I usually just lurk here to try and understand the community and ask occasional questions so long as they're not overbearing. It sounds like such a common sense thing, autism isn't simply people acting out because they're not rewarded properly for acting "right" so why would it go away if you start rewarding? Bruh
