Eh. I’ve gotten ok with it. I’m good with being liked by the people I like and I only really like those who like me. I care about people by and large and want the best for them but that doesn’t mean that I care what they think. I only care what people I like think.

I’m the scary friend and if I get what I want I’ll be the scary mama bear of a stepmom to some kid who will likely have no idea what to do with my indifference to being disliked until I earn their regard.

(Kids are different from adults. I like all the ones that are kind to animals.) Including the brats, often especially the brats. The “good children” scare me because they’ll go along with things and keep quiet about things they shouldn’t.
