i have a roommate this year after previously having a single room in university and i absolutely hate it but i feel like it’s going to be good for me? anyone relate or am i stressing for no reason

Being used to a private room vs having to share with a roommate will ALWAYS be stressful. You’re probably used to your privacy, not having to deal with another person’s boundaries in your space, not having to worry about your noise levels or sleep schedule disturbing the other person, them potentially inviting people in, etc. Just use open honest and kind communication and focus on respecting each others boundaries and maybe try to find common ground in similar interests/hobbies 💜 you got this

I was in the same situation before and I felt nervous about it but it’s not as bad as you would think. I ended up in a peaceful coexistence type of situation where I just minded my own business and treated my half of the room as a single room in a way. I’d say to not pressure yourself to think you have to form a strong friendship with your roommate. Luckily my roommate and I had similar personalities and were both calm and not very talkative so that helped my experience a ton.
