Go to your professors for advice before interviews, or if you have a question related to their field or your class topics, or if you wanna learn more about research etc. Office hours / emails! Professors like it when you’re engaged in the class, which you can be while also playing solitaire.

If possible, reach out and set up a meeting to talk about getting a recommendation from them. Professors usually like that better than just being asked to write one without talking about it together
