
I’m actually the complete opposite, I have the kind of autism where water is Very Good and floating in the water fixes all my problems. It’s to the point where I can hold my breath for nearly two minutes because I just love the peace of being underwater. I even listen to music underwater now bc I have a pouch for my phone and it sounds different, it’s rlly cool
Have you tried being alone in the pool floating on your back just to get used to the water? I close my eyes and envision floating on a cloud I like to float with my ears under the water so all I can hear is my breathing and I can focus on it and ground my self. Ive always seen water as my safe space and I seriously just try to envision myself as an aquatic mammal and not just swimming. Remember that if you ever start to panic just lay on your back and you will float to the surface.
