genuine question: why do people look at us differently the second our traits start showing or start treating us differently in social/friendship settings?

Because we did something they found odd, off putting, or annoying. May never know what it was but it made us less “likeable” this is why neurodivergent friends are easier to be genuine friends with.

Because of ableism. They often love the idea of supporting neurodivergent folks until it actually comes to interacting with us in real life and then they freeze up and don’t know what to do because they don’t actually educate themselves.
